M.L.K Day Parade To Kick Off Grand Strand Freedom Week

The event is the first of many in a week long celebration to honor the legacy of Martin Luther King Jr.

In January, Grand Strand Freedom Week will kick off with the annual M.L.K Day Parade.

Organizers are searching for businesses and organizations to claim a spot in the 17th annual parade.

It is free to sign up and you will be allowed to decorate floats, golf carts, cars, or you can choose to walk.

The parade will move down Ocean Boulevard from 15th Avenue North to 8th Avenue North.

The 16th M.L.K DAY Parade held last year, was the biggest one yet containing 65 participants. So far 25 people, businesses and organizations have registered this year.

The event is the first of many in a week long celebration to honor the legacy of Martin Luther King Jr.
