The Conway Police Department Is Fully Staffed

For the first time in nearly a decade the Conway Police Department has 65 certified police officers.

The Conway Police Department is now fully staffed for the first time in nearly 30 years.

Conway Police Chief, Dale Long, now oversees a full staff of 65 certified police officers. He shared that it would not have been possible without support of the city approving the funding needed to bring in new officers to keep up with the growth of the Conway population.

It can take up to a year to get a newly certified officer fully trained before they can begin patrolling by themselves. Having a full staff leaves more room for training and developing a more prepared and advanced officer.

Though the department is fully staffed Chief Long said that they will never lower their standard when it comes to hiring the best officers and believes the department could gain and become a 100-officer department over the next decade.
