The double murder took place outside of Allen's Food Basket in Myrtle Beach.
A jury found two men not guilty of a double murder that occurred outside of Allen’s Food Basket in Myrtle Beach.
Samuel Frye and Mardave Hunter were on trial for the October 2020 shooting at the business located on the corner of Canal Street and 8th Avenue North.
The victims were playing poker at the location when the men and two others allegedly came in and began shooting. As a result, two people died and five others were injured.
Frye and Hunter were facing charges of two counts of murder and five counts of attempted murder along with assault of high and aggravated nature. Both were found not guilty on all charges.
The defense attorneys argued that evidence presented in the case did not prove their clients pulled the trigger.
Two others have been arrested in connection to the incident, one pleaded guilty and another is still facing charges.
