Ten People Arrested Face Several Shoplifting Charges

MBPD said the several-day operation was designed to identify shoplifters in retail establishments by working with local loss prevention professionals.

Ten people are facing various shoplifting charges after an illegal operation was revealed by the Myrtle Beach Police Department.

Charged with one count of shoplifting:

  • 36-year-old, Cody DeAngelis
  • 30-year-old, Joshua Cook
  • 53-year-old, David Lazinski
  • 47-year-old, Michael Newman
  • 25-year-old, Mikayla McCray

Charged with one count of shoplifting enhanced:

  • 53-year-old, Joseph Moses
  • 51-year-old, Gary Williamson
  • 29-year-old, Jaylyn High

Charged with one count of shoplifting and one count of loitering for harmful purpose:

  • 28-year-old, Jessica Anderson

Charged with one count of shoplifting enhanced, one count of trespassing, and one count of resisting arrest:

  • 57-year-old, Leon Ross

As a result of the operation, more than $9 thousand worth of stolen merchandise was recovered.

An investigation is currently underway.
