Abandoned Church To Become New Attraction

The church building was deemed abandoned and the developers goal for the transformation is to preserve the abandoned building.

A church located on North Kings Highway could soon be transformed into an entertainment venue.

Developers, Mayfair Parkers, are looking at turning the First Presbyterian Church building that was built in the 1940’s, into a 1920’s themed attraction called “Roar.”

The developers search for historic buildings and transform them into entertainment and dining.

The new “Roar” attraction would include a bar, virtual golf, bowling, as well as indoor and outdoor dining.

Last month, the church building was deemed abandoned by the Myrtle Beach City Council. The developers goal for the transformation is to preserve the abandoned building.

The venue is expected to attract 28 to 36 year-old’s, and include families as well.

Plans for the new attraction are set to be addressed by the city next month.

The project is looking to be up and running as soon as next year.
