We’ve taken a look at a few health trends popping up on social media. If you enjoy wine but are watching your sugar, you may have wandered about those sugar-free wines on the market. Is that even possible? There have been several ads released this season claiming such so we poked around a few articles to see what it was all about. Turns out some wineries are lowering the sugar content by fermenting the grapes longer…some adding cane and beet sugar in the process that makes speeds up the processing…producing a lower sugar wine. These won’t be your bargain priced wines though and sometimes the low sugar ones have higher alcohol content as a result. Always check the label. If you’re shopping, dry wines tend to contain the lowest and sparkling wines typically only have about 2 grams per 5 ounces.
