Man Disguised As Maintenance Worker Is Charged For Armed Robbery

The suspect left the room "to go get tools" but came back and pulled a pocket knife instead.

At a motel in Myrtle Beach, a man disguised as a maintenance worker, threatened a person with a knife and robbed them.

On Sunday, officials responded to the Days Inn located at 806 South Ocean Boulevard. The victim said the suspect came to the room presented as maintenance and needed to fix a plumbing issue.

Documents show that the suspect left the room “to go get tools” but came back and pulled a pocket knife instead.

The victim identified the suspect as Eric Chandler who was arrested and charged with armed robbery.

He is currently being held at the J. Ruben Long Detention Center on a $40,000 bond.
