The CARE House Of The Pee Dee Is Assisting Children

The CARE House is a safe place for the children to treat their trauma.

A house in the Pee Dee assists children who have been affected by any form of maltreatment including physical and sexual abuse.

The CARE House is described as a one-stop shop for child abuse victims. The organization’s executive director, Meg Temple, explained that domestic violence is extremely traumatic for children. Children who witness domestic violence are victims too. Temple said children they have encountered, share similar symptoms as if they were abused themselves.

This year, 77 children have been referred to CARE House for domestic violence and 116 have disclosed domestic violence. The number of children is slightly higher than last years record.
