A Shooting At A St. Louis High School Resulted In 3 Deaths

The identities of the victims have not yet been released.

A shooting at Central Visual and Performing Arts High School in St. Louis resulted in three deaths.

Officers arrived on the scene four minutes after the first 911 call. The gunman, who had a long gun and a dozen 30 round ammunition magazines, was found within eight minutes and reported down after a two minute gun battle. He has been identified as 19-year-old, Orlando Harris, a graduate of the school last year. He later died at the hospital.

A 61-year-old woman and a 16-year-old girl were killed at the scene. The identities of the victims have not yet been released.

The motivation behind the incident is unconfirmed, however, given that the shooter had no prior criminal history, officials suspect there may have been some mental illness involved.

A deeper investigation into the reasoning is currently being conducted.
