In upstate South Carolina, two highway patrolmen were victims of a hit and run that resulted in one serious injury.

The incident occurred around 2a.m Sunday, on Cedar Lane Road at Alamo Street in Greenville. Lance Corporal Kugler and Trooper Stuhmer were conducting a traffic stop when they were struck by a Silver Chrysler.

Kugler was standing outside of the patrol car when he was struck and critically injured. Stuhmer was struck while getting out of the patrol car, and was hospitalized, but has since been released.

The suspect has been taken into custody but has not yet been publicly identified.
