The World’s First Electric Passenger Plane

The world’s first all electric passenger aircraft had a successful take off. On Tuesday, the Eviation Aircraft company launched Alice successfully from Washington’s Grant County International Airport. The plane traveled at an altitude of 3,500 feet for an 8 minute test flight. Eviation’s President and CEO, Gregory Davis explained that this is history being made. The plane is powered by battery technology similar to an electric car or cell phone. It takes 30 minutes to charge, holds up to 9 passengers, has a 1 hour flight time and can travel up to 287 miles per hour. The company says that it plans to develop an FAA certified aircraft through 2025 and in addition, a 2 year test trial before delivering to customers.
