Vice President Kamala Harris To Visit Korean Demilitarization Zone

During her trip to South Korea, Vice President Kamala Harris will visit the Korean demilitarized zone that divides North and South Korea. Harris will meet with service members, as well as attend an operational briefing from U.S commanders reiterating the U.S’s commitment to stand beside South Korea if faced with threats from North Korea. She plans to reflect on the shared sacrifice of thousands of American and Korean soldiers who fought and died together. The South Korean Prime Minister, Han Duck-soo expressed that Harris’s visit will be a symbolic demonstration of strong commitments to the security and peace to the Korean Peninsula.
