Non-Profit Plans Fundraiser to Help Victims of Human Trafficking, Survivor to Speak

A community is coming together to talk about the difficult but very-real subject of human trafficking.  They’re not just talking about it, they’re doing something about it. Shelbia Wiley of Engaging Minds and  Angela Brown, Director of Victim Services at the J. Rueben Long Detention Center.

Engaging Minds Services it’s a nonprofit that services to victims of human trafficking and sexual assault.  They provide services such as trauma formed counseling, case management, education and prevention strategies to organizations/churches/schools.  Their annual brunch is one of fundraiser that allows them to provide these services for victims/survivors.   The brunch this year will feature a victim’s story, a silent auction and entertainment from James Stevens from Asher Theater.   The 3rd annual brunch is August 13, 2022 at the Saint James Catholic Church Founder Center in Conway from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m.   For tickets and table information, call 843-438-4550 or visit engagingmindservices.info.
