Steve Bannon’s Trial Begins With Jury Selection in Washington D.C.

Jury selections in Steve Bannon’s court trial will begin in Washington D.C. today. Bannon has been among the top of the list of witnesses for former President Trump’s role in the January 6th insurrection but according to Justice Department prosecutors, the trial will center around his noncompliance after receiving subpoenas from the House Select Committee investigating the riots. Bannon is the first of two similar House Select Committee subpoena cases to head to trial as a case against Former White House Trade Adviser Peter Navarro is still in it’s early stages. It’s unknown how extensive Bannon’s defense will be or if he will take the stand in his own defense. Both of the charges he faces are misdemeanors and if found guilty, each carries a mandatory minimum of 30 days in jail.
