A British study says breeding pug dogs to get that specific “pug” appearance…is bringing health problems to those animals. Researchers say pugs have increased risk of disorders such as airway problems, skin fold infections and weight issues. Scientists say the breed is no longer a typical dog from a health perspective…but despite risks, pugs remain popular. The american kennel club ranks them 28th most popular out of 204 U.S. breeds.
