Over 60 types of resources are battling the blaze dubbed the ‘Coastal Fire’ and a state of emergency was declared for the city of Laguna Niguel last night to help provide additional resources to fight the fire. Evacuations were also ordered for the Coronado Pointe and Pacific Island Drive areas as well as the Balboa Nyes and Portafina neighborhoods. A temporary shelter was set up at a nearby community center. Officials are currently trying to determine how the fire began.
