The lawsuit claims the city tried to unlawfully shut the Lancer Motel down through any means necessary.  It dates back to 2018 when the then-City Manager John Pederson allegedly told the motel owner it was at risk of being declared a nuisance property over the number of calls to police from that location.  The motel claims Pederson wrongly labeled the motel and as a result were routinely harassed and intimidated to make them shut down.  The owners are seeking “actual, consequential and special damages and any further relief the court deems just and proper. The City said they do not comment on pending litigations.
