Urban Meyer Fired As Head Coach of Jacksonville Jaguars

Urban Meyer has been fired as head coach of the Jacksonville Jaguars. Team owner Shad Khan announced the news in a statement saying “after deliberation over many weeks and a thorough analysis of the entirety of Urban’s tenure with our team, I am bitterly disappointed to arrive at the conclusion that an immediate change is imperative for everyone.” Offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell will serve as interim coach for the remainder of the season. Meyer’s departure follows a number of complaints including one from yesterday when former kicker Josh Lambo accused him of kicking him during practice in August. Lambo was let go from the team in October after missing several field goal attempts.
