Mark Meadows to be Held in Criminal Contempt

The panel investigating the Capitol Riots released new details yesterday while advancing the referral of former White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows to the Justice Department on criminal contempt. According to text messages, Donald Trump Jr., FOX news personalities and lawmakers unsuccessfully implored Meadows to get former President Trump to stop the violence at the Capitol. The messages illustrated the dismay of Trump’s inner circle as the riots worsened and serve as evidence of Trump’s dereliction of duty according to chairwoman Representative Liz Cheney.  Cheney made the motion to vote for the contempt resolution which passed unanimously and the full House is expected to vote on the resolution today.
