Protection Against Omicron Variant Improves With Three Doses of Pfizer Vaccine According to Study

New data from Pfizer shows it’s vaccine may not provide sufficient protection against the Omicron variant but that three doses of the vaccine are able to neutralize it. Samples from people who had two doses of the vaccine saw a more than 25 fold reduction in neutralization against the variant than the earlier virus and according to the company indicates that ‘two doses may not be sufficient to protect against infection with the Omicron variant.’ The company claims two doses could still provide protection against the disease, but say receiving their booster will provide more protections against the Omicron strain.
