Johnson and Johnson, Biden Administration Reach Deal
The Biden administration announced a new deal with Johnson and Johnson yesterday. In the deal called ‘COVAX’, Johnson and Johnson vaccines will be sent to people in conflict zones and other humanitarian settings where government campaigns cannot reach. Prior to the agreement, Johnson and Johnson vaccines were only used in official vaccination programs ran by the government. The Johnson and Johnson vaccines will be valued in the areas because of it’s singular dosage and flexibility in storage and transport. Secretary of State Antony Blinken also announced a new public-private partnership called the Global COVID Corps in which companies from the private sector “will work pro-bono to share their expertise and capabilities to support vaccination campaigns, taking on issues like managing supply chains, and helping optimize vaccine sites to deliver shots as quickly and safely as possible.”
