Pandemic Added 20 Hours a Week of Housework and Child Care Tasks

Parents, particularly women, are having to rearrange schedules, become teachers, and manage households in different ways since the pandemic , adding 20 extra hours to a work week. 

Since the pandemic began, moms are basically working an extra part time job.  As schools went virtual, and continue to follows quarantine protocols, moms have found themselves filling the gaps.  Parents, and particularly women are having to rearrange schedules, become teachers, and manage households in different ways.   The findings show it adds 20 extra hours to her work week.  In fact, 2.5 million have left the workforce because of it, another third are considering downshifting their careers to accommodate these changes.  In other words, moms are feeling more burned-out than ever.
