Denture Cleaner Really Does Remove Anything!
Greg and Audra test out one of the "Thursday Tips" using denture cleaner.
Cut your watermelon like this
Slice the melon in half. Then into quarters. Take your knife and slice 1 inch strips down the length of it. You are making a crosshat pattern on each quarter. After the cuts are made, start from one edge and cut along the rind. The cubes fall out of the rind easily!
Put a crayon in your wallet to sense a thief
Protect your sanity and your money when you travel. Carry a crayon in your wallet. Keeping a crayon or pencil in the middle of your billfold wallet will make it “catch” in your pocket, removing a pickpocket’s ability to stealthily remove it from your person if you’re not paying attention. And if you have kids, it serves as a double bonus when eating out for their entertainment. Most restaurants off paper menus for kids with coloring and scribbling opportunities.
Use denture cleaner to remove stains from your coffee mug
We all have those dishes that no matter how many times you run it through the washer, that coffee stain does not budge. Save some frustration and your favorite coffee mug with denture cleaner. This tip comes from our Man on the Strand, Tyler. No, he doesn’t have dentures but he sure does make a lot of sense sometimes. Keep denture cleaner by your sink and after you finish your morning coffee, fill with water and drop the tablet in. The stain should lift right up when you wipe it with a dish rag. Sure beats going after it with elbow grease.
Keep the bugs out your garden with a Coca-Cola
Use ants to your advantage in the garden with a can of Coca-Cola. The Coke keeps the pests off your plants, pesticide-free!. This hack originated in India at the turn of the century, and gardeners found that it works but for reasons you might not think. It’s not the Coke that kills the bugs. It was attracting ants, which in turn eat the pest larvae while leaving the plants alone. Just put a bowl of Coke or any sugary soda in your garden and watch what happens!
