Florence County Sheriff’s Deputy Implements Mentoring Program with Area Schools
Carolina A.M. highlights acts of kindness each week. Audra spotlights Florence County Sheriff's Deputy Heath Gregg.
Some people just go above and beyond, they act on their calling. People like Florence County Sheriff’s Deputy Heath Gregg. He helped start a program in Florence about seven years ago. It’s called TACT, Teens and Cops Working Together. The teens come from all walks of life, they meet once a week, have mentors and do some job shadowing. There’s a program like this on the grand strand as well. In fact a basketball game is happening September 18 between the Myrtle Beach and Florence teams. Deputy Heath Gregg is a school resource officer for a Florence One School.
You may have noticed Florence Police Sgt. Terrance Carroway pictured with in one of the photos with Gregg. Carroway, who lost his life in the line of duty in 2018, was a supporter of TACT.
