Give yourself a break during Mental Health Month. When we’re busy we sometimes think we don’t have the time for a time-out. But disconnecting from the everyday grind can have big benefits. Start by taking a break from social media or limiting your time spent there. Studies show it causes “FOMO” (the fear of missing out), which can create stress and deflate your mood. Take time away from work, projects or the normal grind. It prevents burnout, increases vigor and energy. Whether that’s just taking a break during the day or going on a short getaway, study after study shows it resets mood, promotes well being, ignites creativity and prevents having to recover from burnout.
