Man’s best friends are so devoted to us that they are envious at even the thought that we may show affection to another canine.  After studying 18 pooches along with their owners, scientists in the UK found that dogs who simply see their human near a fake dog will show signs of jealousy.  The researchers separated them by a screen and instructed owners to pet an artificial dog that was in the room.  They observed pets pulled hard on their leashes and expressed signs of jealousy, such as growling and appearing agitated. The experts say this proves dogs have the ability to imagine their owner stroking another pooch and getting envious.
