Dr. Fauci has issued a new warning regarding the coronavirus.
Facui says the U.S. is likely to see another surge after the number of new cases has reached a quote “disturbingly high level.” According to Johns Hopkins University, there were more than 61,000 new cases reported yesterday. Currently the U.S. has vaccinated over 33 percent of the population with more than 109 million people having received at least one dose. Plus, all 50 states will open vaccinations to every adult by April 19th. CDC Director, Dr. Rochelle Walensky says the latest cases are due to the spread of the B.1.1.7 variant as well as other concerning variants. Walensky also had some good news as she stated that she anticipates all schools to be fully in person and no longer remote by this September. She also expects that some children will be able to be vaccinated by mid May but doesn’t think that a vaccine will be authorized for children younger than 12 before the end of the year.
