5K to be Held in Honor of Man Found Dead in Horry County in February
An inaugural 5k race will be held in honor of a man who was found dead in Horry County just over a month ago.
An inaugural 5k race will be held in honor of a man who was found dead in Horry County just over a month ago. The Fiesta 5k will be held in Barefoot Landing on May 8th at 7:00 a.m. in remembrance of Corey Morrison. Donations are being accepted on the Fiesta 5k website and will go to Morrison’s family. it will cost $30 for anyone signing up before April 18th, and after that the price will increase. Morrison was last seen on February 8th near Murphy’s Law Restaurant in the Surfside Beach area. Authorities with the South Carolina Highway Patrol later found his car off of Highway 17 bypass, but there was no sign of him. After a days long search, the 26-year-old’s body was recovered in the area of Azalea Lakes Boulevard.
