Horry County Representative Russell Fry introduced a bill yesterday that would require photo IDs for absentee voting in South Carolina.
Fry said “South Carolina has not seen the level of disfunction as other states because our laws are already robust, this change in the law allows a simple, but critical, way to protect the integrity of our elections”. South Carolina requires photo ID to vote in person and he would like to see that expanded to absentee voting. He added that under the current law if a person is unable to get an id the state will provide one.
