Today Jill Biden will announce plans to provide aid to military families.
The first lady will share plans for the next phase of one of her initiatives, called “Joining Forces”. Biden will do so during a virtual meeting at the white house with American military families, advocates and stakeholders nationwide. She will also head to Arlington, Virginia, later today for a tour of the military One Source Call Center, a department of defense program that provides support to service members and their families. “Joining Forces” will work with employers to create more flexible, transferable and remote job opportunities for military spouses. It will also focus on civilian mental health services being provided to families, caregivers and veterans. The first lady has expressed her belief that military readiness and national security depends on the well-being of military families.
