A Shower Hack That Makes You Smarter, Eventually

Catch Greg and Audra weekdays at 9 a.m. on Carolina AM

Doing things like closing your eyes while shower could make you smarter.  When you combine two senses it stimulates connection between different brain areas.  When this happens, nerve cells produce nutrients in the brain that boost and protect memory.  To try this exercise, challenge yourself to notice the varied textures and sounds in the shower and challenge yourself (using common sense, of course) to find knobs by feel.  Then try adjusting the temperature , washing, shaving and so on, using senses other than sight.  For another brain exercise, try to brush your teeth with your non-dominant hand.
