President Biden Holds His First Press Conference

President Biden will hold his first press conference next hour at 1:15 p.m. in the East Room of the White House. Some of the topics most likely up for discussion include the surge of migrants on the southern border, two deadly mass shootings, executive action on gun control and legislative pathways. He is also expected to highlight his 100 million doses in 100 days timeline and the passage of his $1.9 trillion ‘American Rescue Plan’. Biden’s conference comes two months into his administration. Former President Trump waited 27 days into his presidency to hold his first conference, Former President Obama waited 20 days and Former President George W. Bush waited 33 days before taking questions from the press. Critics are questioning why it’s taking the President so long to field questions from the room of reporters.
