HCS Superintendent Diagnosed with Covid-19

The Horry County Schools superintendent has been diagnosed with Covid-19. Dr. Rick Maxey made the announcement, saying “so far, my symptoms have been mild, and I am hopeful that they will continue to be that way.” He will remain in isolation until his health care providers determine he can return to work. This all comes the same day the HCS Board is expected to give a decision on whether or not they will continue with full-time virtual learning.
