Don’t Trash the Mismatched Socks!

Many simply don’t know what else to do with that stained tshirt, holy socks, and worn out sweater other than throw them in the trash. The average person throws away 70 pounds of of clothing, ending up in a landfill.  Unless it has mildewed or stained with gasoline, donation centers want it. They then often sell it by the pound to textile mills or recycling centers. In fact, about 90 percent of donated items are sold to recycling. Your sweater can end up as carpet padding, insulation, rags or even overseas.
