Robeson County Sheriff’s Office Seeking Information on Unsolved Murders

The Robeson County Sheriff’s Office is seeking critical information in connection to five unsolved homicides. The cases include the following: Jay Oxendine, 21, who died from a gunshot wound on January 31st of 2019 in a home along the 2200 block of Prospect Road. Marvin Strickland, 19, who was shot and killed on September 28th, 2019, along Mount Olive Church Road after a fight broke out at a party. Ushavontella Johnson, 24, who died at a hospital after he was shot on March 29th, 2020, in the area of Norment and Pine Log Roads. Jovany Contreras, 56, died at a hospital after he was found shot on June 6th, 2020, on Hendryx Road. And finally, Azell Houston, 33, who died on scene after being discovered shot inside a crashed vehicle on June 17th, 2020, in the 4000 block of old Lowery Road.
