J. Reuben Long Detention Center Inmate Suing Over Lack of Access to Face Masks

A J. Reuben Long Detention Center inmate is suing over face masks. The recipients of the lawsuit include the Horry County Sheriff and the detention center’s director. Inmate Theodore Bolick is demanding all prisoners be provided with masks which he claims were continuously denied to them amid the pandemic. He is also seeking punitive and compensatory damages worth tens of thousands of dollars for violation of his rights under the Fourteenth Amendment.
