Rosewood Residents Protest Frequent Flooding of Homes

Rosewood residents in Socastee protested the frequent flooding in their area yesterday. Demonstrators gathered outside the old Horry County Courthouse to demand their homes either be bought out or elevated after they’ve faced countless floods since 2015. Horry County Councilman Cam Crawford responded, saying he sympathizes with them since his home has also flooded before. He added the county is trying to secure $160 million in funding from the Department of Housing and Urban Development in order to help meet the residents needs. However it may take some time with everything going on.
