Myrtle Beach Council Approves Mask Mandate for Public Places

The Myrtle Beach City Council approved executive order today that will require face masks to be worn in certain public places. The order will begin at 11:59 p.m. tonight and be in effect for 60 days, unless rescinded before then or the civil emergency declaration expires. North Myrtle Beach became the first city in Horry County to enforce the mandate just two days ago. The city of Georgetown also passed a similar ordinance this morning. Governor McMaster tweeted on the issue saying, “Let me make it very clear. Wear a mask and social distance now, so we can enjoy high school and college football in South Carolina this fall.”
