Cities, Counties in South Carolina Starting to Enforce Face Masks
Yesterday, the North Myrtle Beach City Council unanimously approved a face mask requirement. Effective tomorrow at noon, masks must be worn inside of public places. Anybody who fails to comply will be subject to a fine of no more than $25.00. There will be some exceptions. In addition, all restaurant, retail business and government office employees must wear face coverings during face-to-face interactions. This is also punishable by a maximum fine of $100 per day. Marion County has also enforced a mask mandate in all county-owned buildings. This will begin next week. Furthermore, leaders in Myrtle Beach are set to vote on a similar ordinance tomorrow.
