Number of Coronavirus Cases Rises in the U.S.
Nearly 40,000 new cases of the Coronavirus were reported yesterday…a record number for a single day in the U.S. Now 32 states are reporting a rise in cases and the CDC is saying the number of Americans infected is likely ten times higher than reported. Nearly 6,000 people tested positive in Texas, another single day record for the lone star state. They’re also seeing record hospitalizations, with that number steadily increasing each day over the past two weeks.
The recent surge has forced governor Greg Abbott to hit pause on the state’s reopening plan. Neighboring states, Louisiana and New Mexico also paused their reopening to try and stop the possibility of similar increases. The CDC believes that for every one person who tested positive with the virus, ten have gone undiagnosed which means that an estimated twenty million more Americans have possibly been infected.
