North Carolina Man Arrested for Human Trafficking

A North Carolina man was arrested yesterday after police discovered he had been holding a woman in “sexual servitude” for five years. 48-year-old Salvador Escobar of Randolph County had denied the unnamed survivor her basic needs in exchange for sexual acts since January 2015. And for the privacy and protection of the victim, no further information about her will be released. Escobar was charged with one count of felony human trafficking and currently remains in jail on $100,000 dollars bond. He is expected in court today. It’s thanks to information obtained from the National Human Trafficking Tip Line that he was captured.
