Woman Found Guilty After Son Killed in Fire
A woman has been found guilty in an arson case that resulted in the death of her son. Along with arson, Marissa Cohen was found guilty of unlawful neglect of a child, and conspiracy. She was sentenced to 35 years in prison along with another man who was recently sentenced to 30 years in prison for conspiracy and arson for that same fire. The fire occurred at 10 James Drive in Andrews on March 29th in 2014. Cohen’s son was unknowingly staying in the abandoned residence when the fire took place. It’s reported he died from smoke inhalation. Cohen originally said the fire was due to electrical issues but it was later proven she had paid someone else to start the fire.
