Boston Bomber’s Lawyers Fight to Appeal

Lawyers began to appeal the Boston Bomber’s death sentence today. In April 2013, two bombs exploded during the Boston Marathon killing four and injuring hundreds. A five day manhunt ensued, which completely shut down the city and ended in a deadly shoot out. Dzhokhar Tsarnaev was arrested, found guilty on all 30 counts he faced, and sentenced to death two years later. His brother and co-conspirator died in the fire fight in 2013. Now the remaining Boston Bomber is hoping his legal team will successfully appeal his sentence. Tsarnaev’s argument is that the trial was biased as it was held in the same city the bombing was committed. They also believe there was jury misconduct in which jurors lied to hide their bias. Tsarnaev is currently being held in federal prison in Florence, Colorado.
