Helicopter Crash Leaves Three Soldiers Dead
Three National Guard soldiers are dead after their helicopter crashed during a routine test flight yesterday. Approximately nine minutes after takeoff from the Army Aviation Facility in St. Cloud, Minnesota, a mayday call from the UH-60 black hawk helicopter came in. Contact with the helicopter was lost shortly after and the crash occurred merely 16 miles from the base. The National Guard stated, “Our first priority is the safety and well-being of our guardsmen and our thoughts are with our soldiers and their families at this time.” The names of the soldiers will not be released until after next of kin is notified.
