Sheriff’s Office and Elks Lodge Provide Thanksgiving Meals
This year, the Georgetown county sheriff’s office partnered with the Murrells Inlet Elks Lodge to distribute thanksgiving dinners to 34 families. Each box contained turkey, vegetables, gravy, corn bread, stuffing and desserts. Members of the sheriff’s office delivered the meals across Georgetown county earlier this week. An additional 19 meals were delivered to the special needs and disabilities agency at the cooper center and 300 food items were given to helping hands of Georgetown. A total of 1,500 food items were collected over the past six weeks and 65 turkeys were purchased to complete the dinners.
