Federal Judge Says Don McGahn Must Testify
A major ruling could have a big impact on the impeachment inquiry. A federal judge says former White House counsel Don Mcgahn must testify before the U.S. house. The house judiciary committee has been trying to force Mcgahn to testify since April. Lawmakers want to speak to him about the president’s alleged attempts to obstruct the investigation into Russian meddling in the 2016 election. The judge said Mcgahn can refuse to answer questions. But, the ruling itself could open the door for the President Trump to testify under oath. The justice department says it plans to appeal the ruling in the Mcgahn case.
