Family left behind in Tennessee wildfires

GATLINBURG, T.N. (FOX) – One woman vacationing in Gatlinburg Monday shares her harrowing story as she and her family watched the wildfires inch closer to their cabin, and realized they had been deserted.

Jessica Chamberlain was among two families vacationing from Florida checking into their cabin, who soon saw fire behind them. While told all was OK by the front office, it wasn’t, as they watched the fire advanced toward them. They fled to the cabin office to get help, but none was available. Not knowing the roads, Chamberlain and her family made a phone call to her pastor despite bad cell service and believes that saved her life, as the family made it safely to nearby Pigeon Forge.
