NHL welcomes Vegas Golden Knights as 31st team in the league

(FOX) – Las Vegas’s new hockey team unveiled its name Tuesday.

Owner Bill Foley announced the name and logo yesterday as thousands flocked to Toshiba Plaza outside T-mobile Arena Tuesday for the announcement. The Vegas Golden Knights will play their first regular season game in just under a year.

The NHL awarded Las Vegas the expansion team in June. The Vegas Golden Knights will be the city’s first major league sports team, and the NHL’s first expansion team since 2000.
