Bay Area Prepares for Super Bowl Festivities

CHARLOTTE, NC — The Panthers and Broncos will face off on brand new turf during the February 7 game at Levi’s Stadium.

The stadium has replaced the turf several times since 2014. Players have complained in the past about slipping and poor field conditions.

Meanwhile, the NFL has already begun setting up “Super Bowl City.” The entertainment venue will be in downtown San Francisco, which is about an hour from the Santa Clara stadium.

Panthers coach Ron Rivera knows the area well. He played college football at Cal, which is across the bay in Berkeley.

“It is kind of a homecoming,” said Rivera. “The hard part is tickets. They are at a premium.”

When asked who he would give tickets to, Rivera chuckled and said it depends who asks.
