Ron Rivera Is Sporting News Coach Of The Year

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Carolina Panthers’ head coach Ron Rivera has been announced the Sporting News Coach of the Year.

Giants Panthers football
Rivera received the title on Tuesday after a landslide win, with 23 of the 31 votes by his fellow head coaches.

It is no wonder why Rivera took home the title. The Panthers went 15-1, started the season 14-0, and were the last team to lose a game this year.

On Rivera’s watch, the Panthers have the best record in the NFL, earned the No. 1 seed in the NFC playoffs, and produced a possible league MVP in Cam Newton. Newton, Kuechly and Norman were also named to Sporting News’ NFL All-Pro team.

This has, without a doubt, been the year of the Panthers. Way to go, coach!
